Subject: Harold Palin Memorial Rally at Fulbeck – 4th October 2020

Hello all Marshals, Officials and Competitors,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

This email is to let you know that the Harold Palin Memorial Rally has been given the green light to run on 4th October 2020 at Fulbeck airfield.

We will be following all Government and Motor Sport UK guidelines regarding Covid-19 to run the event as safely as possible, ensuring the safety of all crews and officials who wish to take part in the event.

We will be in touch shortly to request support for the event, but this is just to let you all know the event is going ahead as planned.

We will still be doing repairs and upgrades to the venue as planned and as ever we really appreciate the support you have shown the event and the club in the past.

I’ll be in touch soon, but in the meantime please stay safe and take care.

All the best.

Simon.

Chief Marshal
Eastwood and District Motor Club

Mark Lowe

From John Newlove:

Please see email from Paul Swainson regarding Mark Lowe who unfortunately passed away recently, Mark helped out on North Humberside events particularly on our Worcop event.

John

Hope you fit and well. Asking for a favour, as you are probably aware Mark Lowe recently passed away due to Covid complications. Mark was an X-ray porter at the local James Cook hospital as well as a big fan of rallying and speedway.

With the permission of Mark’s partner Amanda, Roy Barwick, Mick Welford and myself have produced a marshals sticker in memory of Mark.

They are approx 5 inch by 3 inch vinyl stickers. If people would like one or more we are suggesting a donation of £4 Inc P &P per sticker.

Proceeds will go to Amanda and the two boys.

I would be grateful if you could forward this email to marshals on your lists.

If people want one they can contact me by email. paul.swainson3@ntlworld.com

Stay safe and hopefully we can be out marshaling again asap.

Regards Paul Swainson

Sue Rylatt RIP

From Trackrod Rally Yorkshire (3rd May 2020):

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to inform you that Sue died peacefully during the night.
Sue’s funeral is to be held at Huddersfield Crematorium but limited to 10 people due to current COVID-19 restrictions. Her wish is that her ashes be scattered in Dalby Forest and we will inform you of the arrangements at a later date.

We are sure you will all join the event in sending our condolences to Chris at this time.

April edition of Spotlight (the SD34 Motorsport Group magazine) now available

The April edition of Spotlight (the SD34 Motorsport Group magzine) is now available at http://sd34msg.org.uk/newsletter/

Robert Newlove has forwarded an email from Spotlight’s editor:

The world as we knew it has gone to pot

No Motorsport until July at the soonest and even that might be optimistic

Despite a lot of events being ‘ready to go’ when the ban is lifted it will not be just that simple.

Going to try to keep Spotlight going as long as possible

Need

1)       Old reports from Yesteryear – A sort of All Our Yesterdays

2)      Future Plans for when this is all over

3)      More jokes (there will be more blank spaces to fill)

4)      What you are doing to fill the time that has suddenly arrived
