Ferguson Fawsitt Arms, Walkington – 7 April 2022

From Robert Newlove:

Ian Sadofsky has been in touch with the Fergy Fawsitt and we are welcome to return on a Thursday night. So we going to try a week on Thursday 7th April. Usual time of about 9.0pm, but could try a little earlier.

We have not made any specific arrangements, but will see how it goes.

I understand that the car parking area has been reduced.

Please try and support this new venture

Ferguson Fawsitt re-opening

From Dennis Robinson:

The Ferguson Fawsitt will re-open near the end of March … dependent on decorators’ schedule.

The new management will welcome NHMC back, as in the past.

Further details on the re-opening as and when.

It would be good to have a large turnout on April 7th providing it is open by then.

Fergie Fawsitt re-opening?

From Dennis Robinson:

We have heard that the Fergie might be opening again mid-March.

Before I go and start any negotiations on making any arrangements for either NHMC or BDMC to resume meetings there on our regular Thursday night slot, can NHMC members give me an indication as to whether they would again resume the noggin and natter night if the Fergie opens again.

The Bay Horse have been very hospitable but parking is dire and it is not central to our membership.

Replies to Dennis Robinson, please.

From Dennis Robinson (Membership Secretary)

NHMC are also resuming our Thursday evening meetings at The Bay Horse, Cherry Burton from Thursday 27th May.

Beverley & DMC are also resuming their meetings at the same time and place.

Beverley & DMC said:

Bay Horse, Cherry Burton – update

From Robert Newlove:

Please see message from the Bay Horse, looks like it is open again

Robert

Hi Graeme,

The latest update I have received is that only a small select number of staff have to self isolate and the pub will be back open, as normal on Thursday so the bay horse is an option for Thursday nights meeting.

Thanks again

Ryan

Bay Horse, Cherry Burton – positive COVID test

From Robert Newlove:

Dear all

Please see E mail sent to Graeme Potter of Beverley & DMC. We might have to give the pub a miss for a while.

Robert

Hi Graeme,

I hope you’re well.

We’ve unfortunately had a positive Covid test at the pub, so we will be closing for a minimum of 48hours.

This may extend to 2 weeks but I will be in touch if that’s the case as you’ll need to know to inform other members of motor club.

Thanks very much.

Ryan

New meeting place

From Robert Newlove:

Following the news that the Fergie Fawsitt will close permanently on 4 October, I’m pleased to announce that Committee members from Beverley and North Humberside clubs have successfully secured and approved a new Thursday night meeting venue. We needed someone to test the beer, and although this was a somewhat onerous task, Dennis stepped up to the mark, thanks Dennis someone had to do it!

From the 8 October, the Bay Horse, Cherry Burton, HU17 7RF, SE990 421(ish) will welcome members from both clubs. At present there is no allocated room, so you can only enter if there is a free table. Naturally, whichever Covid-19 restrictions are in place at the time will need to be adhered to when visiting the new venue. Currently, masks need to be worn and there is an excellent table service in place, Please respect these measures to ensure the safety of other members and staff. Also pubs close at 10.0pm (that’s actually closed by 10., not last orders).

These are strange times and we will have to see how it goes

Ferguson Fawsitt closing for good from 4th October 2020

From Robert Newlove:

As some of you will have heard, the Ferguson Fawsitt at Walkington is to close for good on the 4th October. There has been a small number attending on a Thursday and the last meeting will be on the 1st October.

We are looking for an alternative venue, preferably to share with Beverley & DMC, but any suggestions are welcome. Please contact a member of the committee .
