The Steve Johnson Memorial Tour – 18th October 2026

And another Touring Assembly …

Apologies if you receive this email more than once, it must mean you’re very popular!

Last year we hosted a tribute to our late friend Steve Johnson, whom we lost in May 2025.

The support last time was so brilliant we have decided to continue the legacy and hold the event again this year. As we did last time, the event will be held on the Sunday closest to Steve’s birthday, this time on October 18th.

We have a fantastic, approx 55 mile, touring assembly planned starting from Uncle Henry’s at Grayingham and finishing at Blyton Ice Cream.

This event is open to all cars (no age limits) that are road legal and will be as much a social event as it will be a touring assembly. Similar in style to this years Border Classic.

To make the event as inclusive as possible, we have a novice and expert option. Novices will have route instructions by a tulip book and the experts will get 12 car style instructions.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to St Andrews hospice who cared for Steve and supported his family in these difficult times.

You can enter online at bordermotorclub.co.uk/steve

Kind regards

With only 6 weeks to go until the Gerry Blythe Memorial Classic Car Tour, I thought it would be a good opportunity to update you on the event. We have received a good foundation of entries thus far (thank you to everyone who has entered to date), the road book is coming along nicely and the plates have been printed. We’re gathering ideas on what to include in the goody bags this year, and the venues are preparing themselves for a busy day!

I also wanted to confirm that there is still space available on the Gerry Blythe Memorial Tour, so if you were thinking about putting your entry in, now would be a great opportunity to reserve your place so you don’t miss out. I would also like to confirm that we plan to send out our final instructions in the preceding 1-2 weeks prior to the event.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,

Beth

I am contacting you as a previous entrant of the Haunted Lincolnshire Classic Car Tour as we are full swing in planning for this year’s event, though this year will see some changes. Firstly, I’d like to apologise to anyone for whom this news is reaching you for the first time, however we are very saddened to share the news that our Father, Gerry Blythe, who began this event alongside me over a decade ago, sadly passed away in January this year. He is so sorely missed and we felt it only fitting to honour his name by changing the previously known Haunted Lincolnshire Classic Car Tour, to the Gerry Blythe Memorial Classic Car Tour. It feels only fitting given how big a part of his life the motorsport community was, including everyone who has joined us in past events. He considered so many of this community his friends, and I’m sure he would be delighted to know that his name has been honoured in this way.

For the past few years we have been grateful to receive a nearly full entry, so we would encourage early entries to guarantee your place on the event.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,
Kind regards,

Dennis Turner Memorial Stages Rally, Fulbeck Airfield – 2 August 2026

From John Newlove:

Please see request for marshals , please make contact either on SRT or reply to his email

Thanks

John

We still need plenty more marshals and radios for the Dennis Turner Memorial Stages Rally (DTMSR) at Fulbeck Airfield on Sunday 2nd August.

If you have already volunteered, thank you. If you haven’t, and are willing and available to help, please go to Rally Stage Team and sign in for the event. Here’s the link to RST: https://www.rallystageteam.co.uk/default.aspx

All marshals will get a Drink & Butty voucher, some freebies, and an automatic entry into the Marshals’ Cash Draw.

This year’s event, as the title suggests, is in memory of Dennis who, as many of you will know, was a very long-standing and respected club member, and past Chairman, Treasurer and Vice President.

The event is a round of several championships, and offers competitors 8 mixed-surface stages totalling about 50 miles, and since starting to run the Fulbeck events in 2023, we have won the EMAMC competitor-voted “Best Mixed Surface Event of the Year” all 3 years running, so we’re expecting a full entry and some hot competition!

However, that’s no good if we don’t have enough marshals and radios to safely run the event, so if you can help, please go to RST and sign in!

Kind regards
Jon Leckenby
Chief Marshal, DTMSR

Event info – the regs for the Pendragon Stages have been published. They are looking for marshals. The BlueStreak targa, organised by Spadeadam Motor Club takes place on Sunday 28th June. They are also looking for marshals.

There are a number of events being held during National Motor Sport Week. Please could you share the information with your club members to encourage them to participate. Clubs sharing other club’s posts on social media is also very helpful.

I’ve enclosed a link to regulation changes. This has been sent out this week by Motorsport UK. There are changes in how they are emailing . There is now the option to opt in to the particular areas of our sport that you are interested in. Proposed Changes – Motorsport UK – The beating heart of UK motorsport

You may also have noticed an increase in publicity around the WRC returning to the UK in 2027. The website for Rally Scotland is www.rallyscotland.org

The event will need a huge army of volunteers to run safely and successfully. There is a volunteer sign up form on the website for anyone who is interested.
