Motorsport UK Scrutineers’ Bulletin – 246 – May 2026

Good morning,
Please circulate to your club members, they may find something useful in the bulletin. There is now a news hub where previous bulletins can be found and a link to the Keep in Touch preference centre. As they say ‘It’s important that you review and update  email preferences to ensure you continue receiving the most relevant updates.’ I have missed a lot of the updates and am updating monthly till I’m sure it’s running properly.

Drystone Road Rally – change of date from 5/6 September to 17/18 October 2026

Please circulate this to your club members.

The Drystone Road Rally 2026

Unfortunately we are having to change the date again of our event this year. We have been informed that a 400 strong Scout group organised Run/Hike is taking place over the weekend of 5th-6th September and through the night, crossing areas we had planned to use. So for the safety of all we have decided to move our event to the weekend of 17th-18th October.
We hope this doesn’t cause any issues and we ask that you inform your  members and member clubs.

Motorsport UK Road Section Top-Up Insurance Master Policy

Motorsport UK has introduced a new Road Section Top-Up Insurance Master Policy, arranged by Kingfisher Motorsport and underwritten by First Underwriting, helping competitors and officials access the minimum third-party cover required for events using the public highway, including road rallies, trials and autotests.

Developed in response to rising costs and reduced availability of cover, this is a positive step in helping keep these events accessible for our community.

A pilot will run from 1st–3rd May, ahead of a full rollout from 5th May 2026.

ANECCC Update

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Prudhoe last Thursday for our association AGM. We were pleased to welcome John Ryan and Polly Dedman from Motorsport UK. We will circulate an overview of their presentation and question answers shortly.

I’ve attached an updated date list, the regulations for Durham’s autotest, the information for ‘One for Frank’ Illuminations Tour and the quiz invitation from Whickham and District Motor Club.

Stage Commander training dates, Event Safety Officer and Spectator Safety Officer training have been released. Clerks of the Course, Stage Commanders and Grade 3 marshals should have had this information already. If anyone is interested in attending the training they need to be recommended by a Clerk of the Course.

Any questions, any info, anything to be added to the website, please let me know.

If you have been trying to update your email preferences, but have found no way of carrying this out on their website page, the reason is that after MSUK had moved to another email provider, there has been so much trouble with them, they have gone back to the existing one over the last few weeks.

They also took the opportunity to update this page so it’s much more user friendly. It is now ready for use if you’d like to update your email preferences.

I would suggest doing this as when I looked at what preferences I had set previously, some were missing despite contacting MSUK last month about this. I will be checking once a month until I am confident that these are not getting removed.

NHMC 2025 AGM – 19:30 on 29th April 2026

Please see notice of AGM for North Humberside Motor Club Ltd for the year 2025. You may think that it’s not long since we had an AGM, but that was for 2024. In recent years the AGM has been later and later in the year, but now Ian has managed to pull it back to an earlier date.
